An ode to dahlias, sunchokes & cosmos
In this silent garden diary video, I take you through the pretty moments of our April garden — now deep into autumn here in Australia. This video is an ode to the quiet charm of white dahlias, cosmos, and sunchokes.

Last upload, my white dahlias were all buds — now, they’re finally blooming, and I couldn’t be more thrilled! You’ll see plenty of close-up shots of their delicate petals, as well as cosmos still dancing in the breeze. There are fewer ladybugs these days, but the bees are still hard at work — and I love spending a moment or two just watching them.
These silent videos are my way of meditating when I’m away from the garden. They help me dream, manifest, and plan the next season ahead.

We also dug up kilos of sunchoke tubers with our toddler — a wholesome autumn harvest moment full of joy and muddy hands. The video includes closeups of us gently pulling them from the soil, so satisfying. Sunchokes’ golden flowers and generous tubers felt like the garden’s final gift before winter, and we finished the day cooking them together — a simple, nourishing way to close out a slow afternoon outdoors.
The cold is slowly creeping in… but the garden still glows and grows.
